The Bureau of Pharma PSUs of India (BPPI) on Tuesday contributed Rs. 25 lakh to PMCares Fund in order to support the government in its fight against Covid-19 pandemic. BPPI is the implementing agency of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP).
PD Vaghela, Secretary Pharma handed over the cheque to Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister DV Sadananda Gowda in New Delhi.
The donation includes contributions from employees of BPPI and owners and distributors of Janaushadhi Kendras.
BPPI also said over 6,300 PMBJKs are functioning across the nation, covering 726 districts of the country. Supporting the government’s initiative of practicing social distancing, pharmacists at the PMBJK, now popularly known as “Swasth Ke Sipahi” are undertaking delivery of medicines to patients and elderly people at their doorstep.
