Social media handles and apps of leading online companies such as MakeMyTrip, Dunzo, RedBus, HealthifyMe, Big Basket, Goibibo, Urban company and many others are not sporting masks to promote social hygiene practice amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
It all started with the Apna mask initiative started by StartUpVsCOVID (startup community with over 1,000 members) to support the Government of India to fight Covid.
Soon brands started nominating each other to join the #ApnaDeshApnaMask movement.
ApnaDeshApnaMask is a non-profit movement created to promote homemade masks and drive behavioural changes among people to wear a mask and stay protected as they step out of their homes.
The initiative has already gained a lot of traction in WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram within two weeks .
The campaign was kicked off by leading players in the startup industry such as Rajan Anandan (Sequoia India), Vijay Shekhar Sharma (Paytm), Alok Mittal (Indifi) and Vishal Gondal (GoQii).
Even celebrities like Vidya Balan, Dia Mirza, Juhi Chawla, Juhi Parmar, Sonu Sood and many others joined the campaign.
