Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to announce 4th tranche of Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan economic package today

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will address a press conference at 4 PM at National Media centre on Saturday to announce the fourth tranche of the Rs. 20 lakh crore economic stimulus package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week. 

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a special package of Rs. 20 lakh crore as part of Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan or  ‘Self-reliant India Mission’,  to tide over the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Since Wednesday, the Finance minister has been holding daily press conferences to share the details of the comprehensive economic package. 

The fourth tranche is likely to  focus on the middle class and small traders and retailers.

In her first tranche of economic measures announced on May 13, Sithraman listed out 15 measures to revive business, including MSMEs, Real Estate, NBFCs, EPF, and Discoms.

The second tranche of measure, announced on Thursday, focussed on migrant workers, street vendors, small traders, small farmers.

On Friday, the finance minister announced the third tranche of economic measures focussed on agriculture and allied industries, including  Rs. 1 lakh crore Agri Infrastructure Fund for farm-gate infrastructure for farmers.
