As the fourth phase of nationwide lockdown comes to end on May 31, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Saturday announced the extension of lockdown in containment zones till June 30.
In a detailed guidelines, the Home Ministry also announced that restrictions in non-containment zones will be allowed in a phased manner.
According to the MHA guidelines, In the first phase, religious places / places of worship for public, hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services, shopping malls will be allowed to operate from June 8.
In the second phase, schools, colleges, educational, training and coaching institutions will be opened after consultations with States and Union Territories. State governments / UT administrations will hold consultations at the institution level with parents and other stakeholders.
The Home Ministry guidelines said that based on the feedback, a decision on the reopening of these institutions will be taken in the month of July 2020.
International air travel of passengers(except as permitted by MHA), Metro rail services , cinema halls, gymnasiums, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars and auditorium, will be restarted in the third phase after assessing the situation, the ministry said.
This includes, social, political, sports entertainment, academic, cultural religious functions and other large congregations.
Movement of individuals shall remain strictly prohibited between 9 PM to 5 AM throughout the country except for essential activities.
Lockdown shall continue to remain in force in containment zones till June 30.
There is no restriction on inter-state and intra-state movement of persons and goods. No separate permission / approval / e-permit will be required for such movements.
Movement by passenger trains and Shramik special trains, domestic passenger air travel, movement of Indian nationals stranded outside the country and of specified persons to travel abroad, evacuation of foreign nationals will continue to be regulated as per SOPs issued.
District authorities may advise individuals to install the Aarogya Setu application on compatible mobile phones and regularly update their health status on the app.
