The Ministry of Railways announced on Tuesday that all train services on Indian Railways including Premium trains, Mail/Express trains, Passenger trains, Suburban trains will continue to remain cancelled till May 3 in the view of Covid-19 lockdown.
It also added that no booking of any type of tickets including the E-tickets through UTS and PRS will be allowed till further orders.
However, movement of goods and parcel trains will continue to operate in order to ensure the transportation of essential supplies from various parts of the country.
The Indian Railways also announced that full refund will be credited for the tickets booked till May 3. The refunds will be remitted automatically by IRCTC online to the user accounts from which the payment was made and users need not cancel their E-ticket.
Passengers who have already cancelled their E-tickets before the announcement will also be eligible for refund of full ticket fare including cancellation charges/ clerkage charges. Advance booked tickets refunds for trains which are not yet cancelled will take upto July 31.
