Kollywood is currently abuzz with speculation that actors Suriya and Karthi will play the titular roles in the tamil remake of Malayalam hit film Ayyappanum Koshiyum.
The Malayalam movie, which has received rave reviews from audience and critics, is about an egoistic clash between a senior police officer Ayyappan (played by Biju Menon), who serves at the Attappadi Police Station and Havildar Koshi (essayed by Prithviraj Sukumaran), who comes to the village with a motive.
According to industry grapevine, Karthi is expected to play the role of Koshi while his elder brother Suriya will play the character of Ayyappan.
The fans and followers of Karthi and Suriya are excited about the news of the two actors playing the lead roles in the Tamil remake of Ayyapanum Koshiyum.
The Tamil remake rights of the film is believed to have been bagged by producer Kathiresan, who has made critically acclaimed films such as Aadukalam and Jigarthanda.
On Tuesday, Bollywood actor-cum-producer John Abraham, who owns the production house JA entertainment, announced that he has bought the remake rights of Ayyappanum Koshiyum in Hindi.
In a Twitter post, Abraham wrote, “Ayyappanum Koshiyum, a film that strikes a perfect balance between action, thrill and a good story. At JA Entertainment we are keen to bring such appealing stories to our audience..we hope to make a truly engaging film with this remake in Hindi. Really Excited !!!”
Ayyappanum Koshiyum is currently streaming on Amazon Prime platform.
