Tamil Nadu government allows post production work from May 11.

The Tamil Nadu government on Friday allowed the film industry to resume with post production activities from May 11 with limited staffs.

In a press release, the government said, the livelihood of many in the film industry have been affected for more than 50 days due to Covid 19 lock down.

The government order comes in response to a request made by Tamil film and television producers on Monday seeking permission to resume post production activities.

In their representation, the producers said over Rs 500 crore of investment are stuck due to the lockdown, which  includes films  which are in post-production stage.

The government order allows a minimum of 5 staffs each for dubbing, editing, Re-recording and Sound Design/Mixing  for VFX /CGI 10-15 are allowed.

The concerned production house will have to obtain necessary approvals from the government and also maintain social distancing and hygiene, the order said.

Producer G. Dhananjayan, who handed over the representation to the government, thanked the government for allowing post-production activities.
