Thomas Cook (India) and SOTC launches ‘Assured’ safe travel program

Travel services provider Thomas Cook (India) along with its group company SOTC Travel on Thursday launched a comprehensive program for safe travel in the Covid-9 era called ‘Assured’. 

The companies partnered with the healthcare expert Apollo Clinics, a member of the Apollo hospitals group, to jointly set a benchmark for safety in travel.

Thomas Cook and SOTC, which are India’s leading travel services companies, had spent a few months with their customers to understand their concerns and priorities when it comes to travel in the light of the Covid-19 pandemic where 75 per cent of the respondents stated that health and safety was their overriding concern. 

“To build the confidence it is safe to travel again, the companies have worked jointly with partners across the travel eco-system to create the Thomas cook and SOTC Assured program which ensures meticulous health and safety protocols at every stage of the customer journey from the various contactless booking processes, safe physical outlets & processes at the sales/servicing pre tour stage, as well as the on-tour stage,” Thomas Cook (India) said in a press release filed with the exchanges. 

The Assured Program defines a series of comprehensive health and safety measures in every travel touch-point from airports, airlines, local transportation, hotels, restaurants and attractions and encompasses employees and suppliers, sellers and channels, including franchisees & customers.

Madhavan Menon, Chairman and Managing Director of Thomas Cook India said, “I am proud today to launch The Thomas Cook & SOTC Assured Safe Travel Program, in association with Apollo Clinics, the most respected brand in the healthcare sector, to jointly set a benchmark for customer safety in this new normal for travel.” 

“As part of the Assured Program, we have examined every customer touch point, right from enquiry via our websites or apps, interactions with our call centres, virtual visits via calls or video calls with our nearest branch – all to ensure contactless, safe interactions,” he added. 

The company’s intent is that their Assured Program should serve as a handy guide / reference point that would assist all the stakeholders in the Travel & Tourism Industry to achieve a single common goal of  ‘Safe travel for all Indians’.

“Apollo Clinics and the Apollo Group have been at the forefront for creating safe environments for the home and office post the lockdown and this association is a natural progression for us to keep everyone safe and healthy,” Ajay H Gangoli, Director Medical Services of Apollo Health & Lifestyle was quoted in the statement.
